OSPA Partnership with PACE Offers Updates, Resources and Support

Specialized HR Legal or Risk PACE Training

PACE Risk Consultants
5% General Liability Discount for the 2020-21 school year will be done with PACE risk consultants visiting each member during the 2019-20 school year to help document the three required items through the insurance web portal: 

  1. Have a Bullying/Harassment/Intimidation policy JFCF or equivalent adopted in your district.

  2. Have all required employees take Bullying/Harassment/Intimidation online training (or other documented training mechanism). 

  3. Each school in your district has an anonymous tip line for students and staff; the use of the SafeOregon Tip Line is encouraged. All three items will need to be documented by May 13, 2020.

Updated PACE Deductible Language
The PACE Trust Board has adopted a change to the adverse termination deductible language starting on July 1, 2019. The updated deductible language with changes in bold:

Notwithstanding any Deductible stated in the Declarations, and except as provided herein, the Participant is responsible for the first $25,000 of any Damages paid by the Trust on behalf of the Participant with respect to any Claims arising out of adverse termination of employment, demotion, non-renewal, or suspension without pay and benefits of any Employee of the Named Participant. However, the Participant will not be responsible for the first $25,000 if the Participant or the Participant’s legal counsel has consulted with the Trust through the PACE Legal Services Program at least 72 hours before such termination, demotion, non-renewal, or suspension of employment.
